Travel Indochina Tour to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap & Angkor Wat.

Phnom Penh: The Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda by Cyclo ride and the National Museum. From Phnom Penh we travelled 15 kms to the Choeung EK Genocidal Centre (The Killing Fields, one of many). We learnt about the atrocities committed during the rule of Pol Pot. A difficult visit to Tuol Sleng (S-21), now a museum but a former school used by the Khymer Rouge as a prison and torture centre.
Siem Reap: Angkor is the largest religious structure in the world. Angkor Wat is the masterpiece of the temple complex. Built in the 12th century it took 30 years to complete. Most of the walls have carvings on them from this time depicting life as it was in the 12th century. Bayon, the carvings of Banteay Srei, the trees of Ta Prohm and the ruins of the ancient city of Angkor Thom (once the epicentre of a great Cambodian empire).
